18 Days and Counting

Summer for Scamp and Spiff begins in 18 days.
Hold me while I freak out.
Last year we did all sorts of activities, including a trip to Boston to spend time with family, Kid’s College where Spiff indulged in emerging drama geekiness (which I love!); and activities for Spiff to better prepare himself for 5th grade. Basically, a jam packed summer. I had all this planned out before May of last year, so it was a nice, smooth transition.
This year, I got nothing. We have no plans to travel (thanks, rising gas prices.); I still have to sign up Spiff for Kid’s College (I keep forgetting); and I’m still awaiting from Spiff’s teachers a list of things he could work on to better prepare for 6th grade.
And, this year, Scamp has decided to give up naps entirely. Also, have I mentioned that he has taken up the nasty habit of whining every single thing he says? Apparently one of his classmates “schooled him” in that fine art, and I’m ‘a going stark raving mad.
All the while my mother is laughing in Heaven. Of this, I am certain.

This week is family dentist week! Everyone but me goes to visit the dentist (Scamp’s second trip, since the first one went so smashingly well.). There’s Articulation Meetings, IEP Meetings, and another Middle School to tour. Very busy week at Casa de Crazedmommy.
