CrazedMommy Who?

Hi! I’m Shash!

I’m Thirty-something and I live in Orlando, Florida where it is sunny all the time except for everyday at 4pm, and on the occasional Thursday. My house is close enough to Disney that a good breeze blows pixie dust on my lawn.

Seriously.

And it’s a pain to clean up, too.

I live lived with my husband and two boys, one of whom has Asperger’s Syndrome, a High-Functioning form of Autism. My ex-husband traveled for his job, and that is what started this whole crazy thing.

Amazing what a business trip to India will bring about.

I still live in Florida, still work in education, but have ditched the husband and am living with my two boys and trying to navigate the world of single parenting. It seems to have the same map as parenting….and just as vague…

I’m a Teaching Assistant School Clerk that is slowly making her way to becoming a teacher. These things take time, people. Lots and lots of time. In the meantime, I love my job, I love the kids, and I love the people I work with. Can’t go wrong with that.

Previously I was a Pre-K Teacher x2, a Web Designer and Developer, a Disney World and Universal Studios employee (high school summer jobs at the “family business”), and a Bookseller. I also got to use my vast knowledge of music and Pop Culture at a awesome record store called Peaches Music and Video. I have found many people who also worked there via the Internet. ‘Tis awesome. It’s no longer there though, and the one I worked at is now a Chipotle. Sad.

I began this blog because my ex-husband was taking a business trip to India, and we thought that he would not be able to call us while he was gone. We also discovered that India had lots of Internet Cafes, so the problem of keeping up with us was solved.

He still called me every day though. Sometimes several times a day. And he never saw an Internet Cafe. Oops.

From there, this blog evolved into a place where I could talk about our journey into Autism with my first-born son. I found that there were others that shared the same path as us and felt the community surround me. We have been blessed to find others who share our struggles and frustrations within and outside of the Autism community. Some of them even live near me. Bonus!

Basically, I’m just doing the best I can with what I have. Most days it’s enough. Some days it is barely.

Every day is an adventure. Join me.
